Kim Crowe-Cop

From the suburbs of Chicago,
Coach Kim Crowe-Cop grew up in an area where women’s soccer was beginning to grow, gain attention, and move to the forefront of competitive play within the U.S. During this time, the NCAA Title IX law was passed which started many new collegiate-level women’s soccer programs. Kim was awarded a scholarship and given the opportunity to play for Butler University’s Women’s Soccer Program. As a founding member, Kim played three years as a starter and team captain, and won Defensive Player of the Year. After graduation, she joined the Butler Women’s Soccer staff as an Assistant Coach and helped the program win two conference championships.  Kim spent the next four years coaching with and competing against some of the top coaches in the country including staff from Notre Dame, Duke, University of North Carolina and University of Florida.   During this time, Kim began her club coaching career, starting as a youth-age group coach. She took part in winning two state titles, joined ODP programs in Illinois and Indiana, helped develop two club academy programs, and took part in developing hundreds of players, many of which have gone on to play at the collegiate, semi-pro and professional levels.  With more than 25 years of coaching at the collegiate, high school club, and ODP levels, she brings strong knowledge and experience to IEFC.

Michael Metlov

Michael Metlov

Michael Metlov has had a love for soccer since the tender age of 3.  As a child, he was encouraged by his dad who played soccer, and he began to genuinely love the game.

He is the coach for IEFC’s Elite Juniors 3 to 6-year-old group which trains in 8-week sessions several times a year.  His main goal: to teach a love for the game of soccer, just like the gift he received from his dad.  He’s been working with the young Elite Juniors team for the past 2 months.

Metlov’s roots go deep into IEFC’s history.  He started his first club experience playing soccer at the age of 8 with Coach Novi under the team Indiana Tigers.  “Coming into this club, I did not have strong training, but Novi trained me and I became a strong player,” he said “By the time I finished training with Novi, he made me a true soccer player.  He’s tough and technical, and expects his players to work hard.”

A junior at Purdue Northwest, Metlov is majoring in construction management.  He completed his earlier  classwork, and transferred from St. Joseph College and South Suburban College, where he received a full soccer scholarship.  He is planning on playing soccer for Purdue next fall as a senior.

“As a coach (for the Elite Juniors), I try to take a little bit from what Novi taught me, a little bit from what I learned from (Coach) TJ, and put a bit of my own spin on coaching.”

He wants his young charges to, first and foremost, love the game of soccer.  “I want these kids to learn the fundamentals, practice dribbling the ball, and overall, just to have a love of the game,” he said.  The current session of Elite Juniors has ended, however the next 8-week training begins in January at the Sparta Dome in Crown Point.  In the off season, Metlov teaches soccer lessons privately.

After 10 years of training with Coach Novi, and now as an IEFC coach himself, Metlov credits IEFC with top training in the area.  “If you’re looking for a soccer club, Indiana Elite is the top premier club,” he said.  “You will become a better player because you get everything you need: top coaching, top fields, top tournaments, and exposure to the top colleges.   This is the place to be.”
